What is Kriya Yoga?

The term “Kriya” originates from the Sanskrit root “Kri,” meaning “to perform an action.” Kriya Yoga, often called “The Yoga of Activity,” uses a blend of mudras (hand gestures), mantras (sacred sounds), pranayama (breathing techniques), asanas (postures), and bandhas (energy locks) to facilitate the movement of vital energy, or prana, through the body. The Major Energy Pathways: Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna

Ida and Pingala run parallel along the spine and cross at each chakra, while Sushumna runs centrally and connects the chakras from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
